Hi! I’m Ramona and this is my workshop! Right now I’m focused on a couple of major areas / skills:

• Sewing: I’m trying to make more of my own clothes to reduce waste and create garments that fit just right (I’m quite tall)
• Electronics: In addition to little gadgets and toys, I’ve been designing and building digi-accessories for the club
• Synthesizers: I’ve been building audio-visual creative tools to explore the weird design possibilities afforded by analog and digital synthesizers
• 3D Printing: Mostly enclosures for my gadgets, but also custom sewing notions (like buttons and buckles)
• Live techno sets: I’ve been playing synthesizers for years, and now I’m starting to do shows!

Principles

Over the years I’ve figured out how to describe some of the ideals that guide my projects:

<aside> ✨ MAGIC Spread feelings of awe and mystery through powerful objects. Make it fun to try to figure out the patterns in how something works. Show people things that they didn’t know were possible.

<aside> 🎛️ INSTANT FUN Every control should do something noticeable. A well-tuned interface is 10x more fun. Design tools to support “flow”.

<aside> 🐛 WHIMSY Invite people to engage with the work. Have fun with it. Make it have character, because not enough things are.

<aside> 🌎 RESPECT THE MATERIALS Don’t be afraid to do projects, but make them worthy of the materials. Design for disassembly, reuse, repair, and modification. Reduce waste when possible, and use the scraps.
